ElectHER Meets with APC Leaders
As a party agnostic non/governmental organization whose primary goal is to support CREDIBLE FEMALE ASPIRANTS/CANDIDATES regardless of their political parties, religion and tribe, we have a responsibility to facilitate advocacy and lobby efforts towards improved visible female representation, especially as the 2023 general elections draw close.
This past week, our team, led by our Founder and CEO, Ibijoke Faborode, alongside the Chair of our Agender35 Advisory Council, Adaora Onyechere, met with the All Progressive Congress National Women Leader, Dr. Betta Edu and National Youth Leader, Dayo Isreal. Both leaders reinforced their unwavering commitment to ensuring women and young aspirants emerge candidates in the coming primary elections.
After the meeting, our Ibijoke also had a conversation on the Gender Agenda show on AIT hosted by Adaora Onyechere afterwards, and spoke about women’s visibility with the 2023 general elections in view. She pointed out the obvious problems women face with utilizing and harnessing media to push their campaigns and articulate themselves to ensure that they are seen and heard. She also highlighted ways women could use media to their advantage, focus on community building and make sure that their presence is felt.
