ElectHER in Malawi for the Generation Equality Forum
From 7th to 9th of April 2022, our CEO, Ibijoke Faborode joined other dignitaries to high level meetings with current and past Female African Leaders, for thought-provoking conversations, connections, & coalition building at the Generation Equality Conference; the first ever High-Level International Dialogue on Generation Equality and Women’s Leadership in Africa, hosted by H.E. Dr. Joyce Banda, Former President Malawi at Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe, Malawi.
The conference, with the theme “Growing and Glowing Against all Odds”, created an opportunity for intergenerational dialogue among multistakeholder groups on women’s leadership and political participation, ending violence against women and girls, women’s economic empowerment, and strengthening intergenerational solidarity to retain women leaders and empower young women leaders in the development, humanitarian, and conflict prevention context.
During this visit, Ibijoke also met with Leaders, including HER Excellency, Madam Catherine Samba-Panza, Former President (Interim), Central Africa Republic, Her Excellency Chief Dr Jewel Howard Taylor, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Liberia, and the Matriarch of African Politics, Her, Excellency, Dr Ellen Johnson, the FIRST DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED FEMALE PRESIDENT IN AFRICA and Former President Liberia.
